to Building D Literacy Night on Tuesday, November 11th from 6:007:10! Our amazing teachers will be offering short sessions covering
each area of literacy instruction, with simple activities you can
replicate at home with your child! You will choose three sessions
total from the menu below, and the book fair will be open for
shopping both before and after the event. Bring your children for a
fun night of partnering together to grow strong kindergarten, first,
and second grade readers and writers!
Make Reading Happy, Practice Your Fluency! Calling
all kindergarten through 2nd grade families! Are you
looking for new ways to practice your sight words? Do
you need help finding listening activities for your child?
If so then join us for fun ways to enhance your child’s
reading fluency! Ms. Novotny & Ms. Seck- Room 308
Fluency Fun with Just Right Books
Does your child get frustrated sounding out each
word? Are the books they are bringing home a struggle
for them to read through? If so, join us to learn all
about “just right books” to enhance your child’s
reading fluency! Ms. Aery & Ms. Graham- Room 305
Come one, come all! Comprehend and draw!
(Never fear! No actual talent required!) In this session
we will explore how adjectives change our mental
images, make writing more interesting, and add detail
to illustrations. See the pictures change as the

Come join us for the BIG IDEAS in beginning reading
through Phonemic Awareness. We will help with
activities to mentally manipulate sounds, sound

At Home Reading Connections for our English
Language Learners
Help your child succeed academically by increasing
reading time at home! We will demonstrate how to
access Raz-kids and provide other examples of how to
support reading at home. A question and answer
