ABSTRACT
Our environment and its limited natural resources are growing concerns for all of us, not
just in Nigeria but around the world. With this in mind, this project was undertaken to provide an
environmentally friendly, cheap and highly suitable power source which will fit in with our
immediate surroundings. Other forms of power generation were explained though without
explaining in full detail. A thorough analysis of the method of osmotic power generation was
explained with its advantages over other forms of power generation. Also, the types of materials
used, the method of selection of materials, the steps in carrying out the actual design process and
also the mode of operation of the plant were also highlighted. It is also indicated in the report
that all the materials used in producing the plant, were made locally. With the design of this
pressure retarded osmotic power plant, technology has once again proven itself to be a very
important tool in making human life better.
