There is a lot of debate over the cost of cell phone plans in Canada. Trevor Textor, BSc’99, has
discovered why cell phone plans are so expensive in Canada and why that’s unlikely to change. In
trying to adapt a new business model to address this issue in telecommunications, he stumbled
over some other really interesting things. These things brought him to the conclusion that
broadband is the "railroad" of our era and how it critically impacts democracy.
