1. Could you tell us some important features of your culture?
a. Where is your country? Korea, Seoul
What natural resources do you have? Mineral
Who are the people making up the population? Korean
b. What is the staple food in your country? Rice, Kimchi
Do you have any special table manners? Respect elder, talk less, use chopstick to
pick foods and use spoon to eat, do not pick up the bowl, no smoking.
What agricultural produce do you have in your country? Rice, wheat, apple, peach,
pear.
c. How is the weather like in your country? Like Taiwan has four season.
d. What kinds of clothes do people wear to work or to school? At work they wear
suit .At school they wear trend clothes.
What do people wear at home? Clothes
What do people wear to formal events? Suit.
Do you have any traditional costumes in your country? Hanbok.
When do you wear those traditional costumes? New Year, moon festival
e. What are the most famous landmarks, historical sites, tourist attractions, or

2. Regarding the items mentioned in question 1, what differences do you find
between your culture and Taiwanese culture? Almost the same but the table
manner is more appropriated.
II. Subjective Culture
1. Could you tell us the subjective feature of your culture?
a. Time: Is it important to be punctual? Yes
Do people always arrive on time? Yes
Is it ok to arrive late? A little bit late is ok but it is not good to be very late.
b. Invitation: Is it normal to invite a friend to have dinner at home?Or people meet in
the public places, like restaurants or cafés? Yes
Do you need to bring something if you are invited? Sometimes.
c. Greeting: How do people greet each other when they meet? Shack hand,
bow.
What do you say to each other? An nyeong ha se yo.
d. Agreement and disagreement: How do you express agreement or disagreement?
Acceptance or refusal? Not directly on public but in personal.
e. Do people use body language a lot? Bow to show welcome or respect.
Is it polite to touch someone while speaking? No
f. Are there any taboos foreigners must know before visiting your countries?
If you buy things, you must put the money on clerk’s hand, or you will be regarded as
impolite. Not to talk about politics, Japan ,wife.
What do you think are the underlying reasons of those taboos? Because we have
strong self-esteem and some historical incidents.
2. Regarding the items mentioned in question 2, what differences do you find
between your culture and Taiwanese culture? Taiwan is more open-minded than
Korea but the manner really have to be improved.

1. 我覺得這個訪談活動有何優點? 可以認識不一樣的文化跟彼此國家的差異和
增進人與人之間的溝通談話
2. 我學到什麼新的文化知識? 禮貌是很重要的,不管在哪個國家, 長輩也好晚輩
也好,都應該要以禮待人,互相尊重
3. 我學到什麼新的語言或單字? 好吃-馬希叟 朋友-親股 不知道-目拉
4. 我在和外籍學生中運用什麼溝通技巧來理解和表達?大部分用英文或手勢
