FUNCTION:
To provide for the accurate and timely reporting of University financial information and
condition.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and prepare Annual Financial Report (AFR); review AFR for accuracy prior
to submission; work with the Executive Director of Accounting to enter AFR in the
Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS). Prepare the annual IFRS report. Prepare
the monthly method of financing report as required by UT System; prepare special
reports including IPEDS, CFAE Gift Reconciliation, Coordinating Board Report of
Research expenditures, UBIT Report, Quarterly Binding Encumberance Report.
Prepare the management reports as requested, prepare the State of Revenues and
Expenditures for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Responsible for the Control
Self-Assessment for the University. Supervise and train Financial Analyst. Attend
meetings and training sessions relating to USAS and other accounting/reporting issues.

INTERNAL CONTROL: Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a
system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department
operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department
financial information is reliable, and the department complies with applicable laws,
regulations, policies, and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least 5 years of accounting/auditing experience in
a university or commercial setting. Computer efficient.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Specific job requirements or physical location of some
positions allocated to this classification, may render the position security sensitive, and
thereby subject to the provisions of Section §51.215 Texas Education Code.
