Purpose
Purpose:
To provide instructional design programming and consultation for the support of
academic courses and specialized programs delivered via distance education.
Essential Functions
Function 1:
Maintain the programming schedule for conversion of online instructional materials,
while maintaining their integrity for delivery through learning management
system(s).
40 % Time
Function 2:
Provides basic support to faculty teaching online classes in specialized programs.
Provide assistance to faculty for the design and delivery of effective instruction
through technology.
30 % Time
Function 3:
Research and evaluate new learning methods and instructional technologies. Assist
with design elements and delivery of course materials for Learning Management
Systems and other online learning tools utilized by faculty. Responsible for course
administration through Learning Management Systems. Communicate critical course
issues to faculty to ensure academic integrity.
20 % Time
Function 4:
Represent the University through professional conferenece presentations and
publications. Assists in all phases of operation with the department.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in instructional technology, education, communications, information
technology, or curriculum design or related field. Three to five years experience in
course design or curriculum design, preferable in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience coordinating and supporting delivery of distance education at an
institution of higher education. Considerable project management experience
required. Professional application of learning and instructional design theories with
knowledge of ADA compliance requirements, fair use and copyright. Extensive
experience in online course project management using learning management
systems in a production environment. Must have excellent written, verbal, and
interpersonal skills. Comprehensive knowledge and extended use of both Windows
and MAC computer systems as well as other standard office equipment. Training and
experience with advanced software.
