Computers & Technology In The Education Industry
In today’s modern and complex society, technology changes by the second; thus creating a more
technical society as a whole. The introduction of technology and computes into the education industry
has changed the parameters of the education industry tremendously. Technology and computers
facilitate a more engaged learning process, give the ability to better manage data, and prepare students
to enter a workforce that is far more technically advanced then the years past.
Utilizing computers in the education industry enables students and teachers alike to become more
engaged in the learning process. Teachers now that the ability to present side shows utilizing
PowerPoint, lecture using the world wide web as a means of text, and show video streams on any topic
just to name a few [possibilities. The learning process becomes more hands on, engaging the student
and teacher both while instilling the principal being taught.
Administrators and Teachers use various types of data bases in the everyday operation of both the
school and classroom. Administrators utilize databases for record keeping purposes and file
management on both students and teachers. Academic transcripts and personnel files are maintained
utilizing databases. Technology such as databases creates a more cost efficient means of recordkeeping
and also a more acute method than in years past of recording records by hand in ledgers.
Introducing technology and computers into the education industry also prepares students to enter the
workforce, ready to succeed. In this century most companies have become more dependent on
technology and computers for there day to day operations. A student having a masterly knowledge of
technology and computers has prepared them to enter the workforce, qualified and capable.
In closing, the education industry will be tremendously affected by the implementation of technology
and computers in to the class rooms and administration. As we can see of our selves what an important
role computers are in education, from GGC. GGC had embraced this concept and from what we can tell,
mastered it.
