Unit Purpose
“To assist in maximizing the utilization of faculty
and staff to meet student needs by maintaining
policies and procedures that enhance equitable
and consistent treatment in all personnel
functions: employment, benefits administration,
and employee relations.”
2004-05 Accomplishments
• Conducted comprehensive review of benefits
– Selected Wellington/First Financial Group
as new provider

Eliminated liability of loss
Decrease in employee cost of benefits
– New enhanced benefit program and options

2004-05 Accomplishments
– Improved medical,dental, vision
reimbursement accounts
• Provided info on new legislation that allows
reimbursement for eligible over-the-counter
items
• Implemented convenient Visa debit card
• Increased maximum amount allowed to $3,600
– Issued new flex benefits booklet
• Provides ease of understanding
• Provides info on all voluntary plans
2004-05 Accomplishments
• Personnel Actions
– Coordinated hiring process and conducted new
employee orientation for 47 full-time faculty & staff
– Coordinated exit process for 41 employees
– Processed 5 retirements
– Responded to over 1,000 applicant inquiries and
processed 1,090 applications

• Recommended revisions to CFCC Faculty &
Staff Handbook
• Continued verification of required
documentation to ensure SACS compliance
– 92% of official transcripts received
– Contacted all individuals and notified department
heads concerning missing official transcripts
• Completed standardization of Personnel files
– 100% completed
2005-06 Planning Objectives
College Goal: Excellent Employees & Staff Cultivate an
excellent, highly qualified faculty and staff through
recruitment, retention, recognition, and professional
development.
• Obtain 100% official transcripts received
• Publish Workers’ Compensation Handbook
• Continue enhancement and improvement of
Personnel Intranet & Internet information
• Explore new advertising tools to meet
specialized position needs
