Resources were used to build shelters, for
tool making and hunting and fishing
Nomadic lifestyle….moved around in
search of food.
3,000 years ago Native Americans began
to plant their own crops(agriculture)
Three Sisters – planting corn, beans

Groups
There were two groups of Native Americans in
Pennsylvania
 1. Algonquian- which included the Lenni Lenapi and
Shawnee
 2. Iroquois- which included the Susquehannock and
Iroquois .
The groups shared similar language and way of life.

Facts:
Also known as the “Delaware”

Facts:

To end fighting among themselves they
formed Iroquois League of Five Nations to
form rules for everyone to follow.
Became the most powerful group of
Native Americans in North America
Our Constitution is based on their rules.

Facts:
• Lived in Longhouses
• Built palisades for protection
• Always at war…couldn’t stay together
• Died out by 1763
• An Iroquois group
