Receptionist: Good morning, Neighborcare Clinic. This is Jill. How may I help you?
Bessi: Hi, my boss told me I need to see a doctor. Cough.
R: Why do you need to see the doctor?
B: I’ve been coughing for two weeks, and it won’t go away.
R: Yeah, sounds like you should get that checked out. Let me get some information from you.
Then we’ll see what openings we have.
B: Ok.
R: What’s your full name?
B: Bessi McAllister.
R: How do you spell that, please?
B: B-E-S-S-I.
R: Was that “B” like boy?
B: Yes. B-E-S-S-I.
R: Okay, and your last name?
B: M-C-A-L-L-I-S-T-E-R.
R: Okay. That’s M-C-A-L-L-I-S-T-E-R. That’s with a little “c”, right?
B: Yeah.
R: Okay, and your phone number?
B: 206-555-7899
R: Date of birth?
B: 09-18-79
R: And, your address?
B: 1428 N. 87th St., Apt. 202

R: Okay, and your zip?
B: 98103
R: Alright, and your insurance?
B: I don’t have any. Is that a problem?
R: Well, what we can do for you is set-up an appointment with our financial person before or
after you see the doctor. You said you are working, so you’ll need to bring a copy of your pay
stub, your last tax return, and a photo ID.
B: Your website said that you could help me apply for insurance.
R: Yes, you can discuss that with the financial person. We work with DSHS and Community
Health Plan. If you don’t qualify for insurance, we do have a sliding scale.
B: That’s great.
R: So, do you want to go ahead with an appointment?
B: Yes.
R: Let’s do the doctor’s appointment first. When are you available?
B: Can I have the next available?
R: We can squeeze you in tomorrow morning at 10:15…ummm…but the financial advisor can’t
see you until tomorrow afternoon.
B: That’s fine. I can’t work until I get this done.
R: Great, so we’ll see you tomorrow morning at 10:15 with Dr. Baker. Please try to arrive 20
minutes early. We’ll have some paperwork for you to fill out.
B: OK.
R: You’ll be seeing Megan, our financial adviser, tomorrow at 1:30. Remember to bring a copy
of your pay stub, your last tax return, and a photo ID.
B: Okay. So, it’s a pay stub, return, and ID.
R: Yep. Any other questions? Do you need the clinic address?
B: No, I found it on the website.
R: Great. See you then.
B: Thank you so much.
