03-Study Guide
Heredity and Environment
#1-Discuss genes as the basis of our creation, include DNA, chromosomes, and
alleys.
#2-Discuss the human genome and elaborate on the differences between genotype
and phenotype.
#3-Discuss and differentiate between gametes and a zygote. Also, indicate the
chromosome differences between male and female gametes and zygotes.
#4-Discuss the differences between monozygotic twins and dizygotic when.
#5-Discuss assisted reproduction technology, including in vitro fertilization.
#6-Discuss how genes in the genotype can create the phenotype (appearance and
behavior).
#7-Describe the term epigenetic and what it means.
#8-Discuss the concept of dominant and recessive aridity, and the elaborate on how
one gene can affect another gene.
#9-Discuss genetic chromosomal abnormalities and how they are related to the age
of the mother.
#10-Discuss some of the abnormalities of the 23rd pair of chromosomes (the sex
