PERSONAL STATEMENT
My involvement in sport and other activities has meant that I have developed the ability to
organise and manage my time. This also applies to my part-time work where I have proved to
be a reliable, punctual and committed employee.
I have assisted in coaching junior sports and organising committees which has given me the
confidence and ability to work with other people in a leadership role.
The Duke of Edinburgh programme has taught me to broaden the activities I take part in, set
myself challenges and work alongside others in an outdoor setting. I can make decisions under
pressure, think logically and it has given me given me goals to aim for over the time I have been
at school.
I plan to go to university once I have completed Year 13 and do a degree in Science majoring in
Chemistry. My long term goal is to work in the agricultural industry. New Zealand is a primary
producer and I know I would enjoy the opportunity to be innovative and to carry out research
that would benefit many people.
