Registration has begun for TC computer classes

Registration is now open for four computer classes scheduled to begin soon at Temple

College.

Offered through the TC Community Education Department, the classes are open to anyone, but advance registration is required.

"Windows 98/2000" will be offered in a one day session Friday, Feb. 16. The course covers the basic uses of Windows 2000, including getting started, using the taskbar and start menu, working with windows, menus, toolbars, and dialog boxes, the help window, explorer, and customizing workstations.

The class will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16. The cost is $49 plus book.

"Beginning Excel" will be offered 1-4:30 on Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 20 and 22. The course will include instruction in the terminology, machine use, program parameters, display characteristics, formatting features, mathematical functions and printing, The cost is $9 plus book.

"Access" will be offered 6-9:10 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays from Feb. 21 through

March 7. The course will include instruction in program parameters, data dictionary, optional field characteristics, calculation, constant default values, designing data entry forms, database organization and report generation. The cost is $65 plus book.

"Introduction to word" will be offered 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. In this class, the student will define a word processing system, create basic business documents, save a document as an electronic file, close and exit the system, perform basic formatting, move and copy text, create and manage tables, control page layout and use proofing tools. The cost is $49 plus book.
