Goal Area 6: Humanities & Fine Arts
Expand appreciation and critical understanding of changing modes of human expression and systems of thought in the arts and humanities, and develop abilities in the creation and performance of meaning.
Comm 275 show students how the film media can manipulate images and information to distort the true meaning of visual messages. It also reveals man's inhumanity to man through the film genre.

1. Students will explore the wide variety of documentaries with a focus on Holocaust documentaries through written and oral course work.
2. Students will research and write papers on the individual and collective values of the German people and the
Nazi Party as well as other cultures as expressed through Holocaust documentaries.
3. Students will give presentations which examine and compare documentaries on the Holocaust produced by various cultures.
4. Students will analyze the intellectual precepts and concepts of the Holocaust held by the German people, the
Nazi government, and the rest of the world through the study of various documentaries in papers and examinations.
7. Students will analyze and give presentations on the means of communication involved in the production of various types of documentaries.
