If you are offered this position (we hope to notify on 3/1/13), there will also be a few hours of shadowing to
be completed by the end of Spring semester. To begin working for the office, the following is necessary:
1. Within one week of accepting the position, make an appointment with Debbie Fox, the CS-L
Administrative Assistant (foxds@jmu.edu or 540.568.2372). Provide the following at your
appointment: copy of social security card and knowledge of tax information (i.e. do your parents
claim you on their taxes, number of exemptions and dependents to claim on your tax forms, and if
you should claim 0 or 1 exemptions).
2. Following your meeting with Debbie, you will be contacted by the Student Work Experience
Center (SWEC). You will have ten days to set up an appointment with SWEC in Warren Hall.
Provide the following at your appointment: passport OR two forms of identification (NO copies
permitted) (i.e. JACard, driver’s license, voter registration card, U.S. military ID card, etc).
3. Shadowing will be scheduled at the convenience of you and the current Outreach Coordinators.
**If you have worked on campus within the past six months (not for an affiliate such as Aramark or Follet),
then you will not need to meet with SWEC again.**

This position will provide services for the Alternative Break Program, a student led service
program during Thanksgiving, Spring, May, and Weekend Breaks, but also the annual
programming efforts for Active Citizen Week. Strong candidates for the position must be detail
oriented, have good facilitation and interpersonal skills, and have both web and print based
advertising skills.
