This associate degree prepares students who are interested in entry level positions in small business or who may be interested in
starting their own business. The business courses introduce students to topics in accounting, information systems, marketing,
management, and finance. Individuals wishing to start their own business must be knowledgeable not only from an operations
perspective but also be able to prepare business plans to obtain financing. The courses required in this degree will help potential
entrepreneurs gain the knowledge necessary to run a small business.
Career Descriptions:
What is an Entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages a business undertaking, assumes the risk for the sake of profit.
An entrepreneur also sees an opportunity, makes a plan, starts the business, manages the business, and receives the profits (SBA.org)
Marketing/Management Trainee
An entry-level position, requiring a two-year degree, in management or retail.
