The girls were discovered dancing in the forest and lied about it.
Betty is faking being sick. Rev. Hale comes to town to see about witchcraft.
Arguments and discussions in Betty’s room. Proctor and Abby reveal past
affair. Hale to exorcise Betty? Abby “confesses” and implicates Tituba.
Tituba “admits” witchcraft , says devil told her to kill Parris, and names
others. Act ends with the girls implicating others.
