Objective: The student will create an acrostic poem that gives information about
Columbus and his life.
Creating a Slide in PowerPoint:
 Open PowerPoint.
 From the drawing toolbar, select the Word Art icon.
 In the Word Art window, select a text that is vertical.
 Make the text the length of the slide.
 Move it to the far left of the slide.
 From the drawing toolbar, select the text box icon.
 Click and drag a box beside the first letter of your vertical word.
 Enter a fact that begins with that letter.
 Repeat for each letter of the vertical word.
 Print.
