CLASS TITLE:
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES ANALYST/ EVENTS
SPECIALIST
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Development and College Foundation perform a
wide variety of highly confidential, responsible, and complex administrative support coordination,
develop systems solutions in the areas of database and prospect management, prospect research
and special events coordination. Manage annual fund and employee solicitations, develop
effective solicitation strategies that integrate and enhance the development office’s major gifts
functions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
1.
Using the Contributor Relations module of PeopleSoft and using industry best-practices,
implement a prospect management system in support of the department’s major gifts
program, and test system updates as needed. The system must enhance the work of major
gifts fundraisers, track prospect status, rotate prospects in and out of the system, and
ensure proper and timely follow through with current and prospective donors. (E)

Coordinate all aspects of the Contributor Relations module of PeopleSoft in support of
the development function, ensuring database integrity and maximizing automatic
processes to reduce manual data entry, and increasing communication with our
constituents. (E)
3.
Proactively identify new prospective donors by using prospect research tools and analyzing
pertinent information to assess a prospective donor’s interests and giving capacity. Identify
from our existing database prospects with the greatest likelihood of making a major gift,
considered to be $10,000+. Conduct highly confidential research on prospective donors
and prepare that information for use by fundraisers and the college president. (E)

Coordinate logistics of donor events, including providing work direction to other support
staff. Liaison with vendors, event hosts and event sponsors. Negotiate prices and serve as
lead event coordinator both in preparation and during the event. Creatively troubleshoot
on-site, proactively resolving issues. (E)
5.
Develop, compose and implement annual solicitations to increase giving among employees
and to elicit new and repeat donors among our alumni and friends giving at the $25 to
$1,000 levels.
6.
Working with administrative support staff, ensure the implementation of best practices in gift
recording, processing, and acknowledgement in conformance with IRS rules and
regulations, CASE guidelines, and all other governing organizations and authorities.
7.
Schedule and evaluate the work of student workers hired for data-entry, and other
administrative support tasks.
8.
Assemble requested data and prepare reports related to the college development’s
fundraising performance, participating in state-wide and national benchmarking surveys.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education and experience equivalent to a Associates degree and two years of closely related
work experience.

WORK DIRECTION, LEAD AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise student workers, lead development staff in the preparation and execution of special
events
CONTACTS:
College donors, foundation board members, administrators, departmental coworkers, district
staff, students, faculty, community partners, parents, and the general public.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Primarily sedentary with intermittent standing, walking, bending and/or stooping; occasional light
lifting and carrying of objects weighing 25 pounds or less; light to moderate repetitive use of
computer keyboard, mouse or other control; ability to travel to a variety of locations on and off
campus as-needed to conduct district business.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT:
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships involving appropriate interactions
and communications personally, by phone and in writing with a variety of individuals and/or
groups of individuals from diverse backgrounds on a regular, on-going basis; ability to work
effectively under pressure on multiple, various tasks concurrently while meeting established
deadlines and changing priorities; ability to effectively negotiate, mediate and resolve conflicts
with and among contacts.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Fast-paced office environments; frequent deadlines, subject to frequent contacts with and
interruptions by individuals in person or by phone; intermittent to frequent exposure to
individuals acting in a disagreeable fashion; may be required to work at any district location
during day and/or evening hours with occasional holidays and/or weekends on an as-needed
basis.
