Guest Speakers- none
Chair ReportChairwoman Antworth reported on the forms to be used for the upcoming elections. She
discussed ideas for the elections forum, poll workers and asked for opinions on the online voting
issue.
Old Business
New Business
a. Discuss candidate seminars- Robert’s Rules of Order was suspended so that open
discussion could take place- brainstorming. Three seminars would be taking place as
usual, but on different times during three different days.
b. Discuss Public Debate - discussion centered around where the forum or debate would
be taking place. After discussion ended, Robert’s Rule of Order was reestablished with 8
voting members.
c. Senator Petrosyan discussed why he wrote SB-14S-2747- Every Voice Counts Act.
Sen.Petrosyan informed the committee that he wrote this to make sure all students
have a say in the elections. He feels there should be an election even if candidates run
unopposed because students will still vote and have their say. There was discussion.
There was a motion to approve SB-14S-2747, seconded. Motion failed- 1-0-6.
Appointments
a. Spencer Harold – Spencer Harold was approved for appointment to be forwarded to
Senate, 7-0-0.
