classes, with an annotated bibliography due during exam week. The project is to be on aspects of language,
literature, history related to our author.
Class participation: Regular preparation and class participation are expected, and will affect your grade. Foreign
language study is such that certain aspects of one's performance cannot be judged by examinations, but rather by
class performance. 20% of your final grade will be based upon daily class participation. Effective class participation
assumes preparation of daily assignments before class, and therefore submitted homework will be part of the
assessment.
Class attendance. Students are expected to go to class regularly.
Accommodations for students with disabilities: Southwestern University is committed to assisting students with
disabilities. Southwestern University will make reasonable accommodations for students with documented
disabilities. To arrange accommodations students should contact Kimele Carter, the Academic Services Coordinator
within the Office of Academic Success, PRC 120; phone 863-1536; e-mail carterk@southwestern.edu). Students
