133rd SLBC
1. Revised allocation of FI villages under below 1600 population
and PACBs category
SLBC has identified through LDMs and allotted 5895 villages with population
of below 1600 and 556 villages under PACS/PACBs category and allotted to
various banks for providing banking facilities under financial inclusion before
March 2013.
Now, the list is modified due to duplication and repetition in the above lists
and as per the request of various banks and the final number of villages now
stands at 5622 villages from 5895 villages under below 1600 category and
534 villages from 556 villages under PACSs/ PACBs category.
Consolidated district-wise and bank-wise list under both category of
allocation is provided for the benefit of the member banks. The detailed
district-wise and bank-wise lists are available in our website www.slbctn.com
under Financial Inclusion head.
The member banks are requested to complete coverage of their allotted
villages before March, 2013.

2. Roll out of payment of MGNREGS wages through bank accounts in 5
pilot districts:
A special meeting of the SLBC, Tamil Nadu was held on 25.03.2013 at the
office of the Commissioner of Rural Development, Government of Tamil
Nadu wherein the following decisions were taken:
1) The payment of MGNREGS wages will be routed through bank
accounts in 5 pilot districts as per the following time schedule
-
Erode District – Roll out on 20.04.2013
Kancheepuram - Roll out on 15.04.2013
Kanyakumari - Roll out on 10.04.2013
Tiruvallur
- Roll out on 15.04.2013
Tiruppur
- Roll out on 20.04.2013
The date for the roll out in other districts will be discussed with four lead
Banks separately.
2) Preference should be given to animators of Panchayat Level
Federations and Self Help Groups while engaging Business
Correspondent Agents for the villages so far uncovered.
3) The Rural Development Department will provide the average out flow
of payment of MGNREGS wages for each panchayat in the State. The
banks may fix cash holding limit for the BCAs accordingly.
4) The responsibility of online credit of the wages directly to the
accounts of the workers will be entrusted to the four Lead Banks .
Allocation of districts is to be decided after deliberations.
The members are requested to deliberate on this issue.
