Studying has changed the way I have behaved whilst in prison. Prison is a very
wasteful environment, or it can be. Education at the level that I set myself seemed a
way of using my time constructively. And if I can encourage other people to do
something else other than the proverbial staring at a wall all day, then I will. Because
it’s no way to live.
I was determined not to waste my life whilst I’m in prison. I found that escapism
through the OU. I wouldn’t take any of it back. Wouldn’t give any of it away, because
I’ve achieved what I wanted to achieve and I’ve got so much more out of it that I
didn’t even imagine when I first started.
