Major Duties
Coordinate the planning, development, and delivery of all outreach activities
associated with the Beginning Famer and Rancher Development Project.
Collaborate with project faculty and supervise project staff and student interns in
the development of training materials and activities targeted toward limitedresource and prospective farmers and ranchers of Hispanic origin. Promote project
activities to target audience and community stakeholders. Monitor project budget,
prepare reports, and communicate results in a timely manner.

Attend meetings and events related to project and department.
Required
Education and
Experience
Master’s Degree in a agricultural-related discipline; at least one year of experience
in the development and delivery of educational programs in face-to-face settings.
Ability to write and speak effectively in English and Spanish. Valid driver’s license;
Ability to participate in limited travel and work occasional nights and weekends.
Preferred
Education and
Experience
Doctoral degree with at least one degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or
Agricultural Education; Two (2) years experience in Extension or outreach settings;
prior experience working with Hispanic farm clientele.

This project, Breaking Barriers for Beginning Hispanic Farmers and Ranchers, is a
three-year, USDA-NIFA funded initiative under the provisions of the Beginning
Farmer and Rancher Development Program. This is a one-year appointment with
possible renewal for two additional years contingent upon successful performance
and continued funding.
