Aim
To help you
• prepare for the academic communication
involved in your discipline
• reflect on what this means for you in your
research
Introduction to PACE
• Who are the sessions for? PACE is aimed
at all students who would like to develop
their use of academic English.
• Who are the sessions run by? PACE
facilitators have academic research
interests in academic writing, and
experience in working with postgraduate
writers. The PACE team is co-ordinated by
Dr Jackie Tuck.

Session + Writing + Feedback
• Doesn’t have to involve extra writing – can
be whatever you are working on at the
moment
• Block 1 focuses on key genres for
postgraduate research
• Block 2 focuses on honing writing to make
it more coherent, convincing, engaging.
Writing Circle
• Facilitators: Jackie Tuck and Sarah
Mukherjee – 8 sessions March-June 2015
• An informal peer-led writing group
• Priority for those in final writing up stages
• May be places for those in probationary
year
