HW – Creating Cell Analogy
Create Your Own Cell Analogy
Directions: You will create your own cell analogy, comparing an animal OR plant cell to
anything you want (ex. cell phone, basketball court, car, house, factory, baseball field,
computer, play station, etc…). To complete your analogy please provide the following
information:
1. A detailed drawing of your analogy (on the construction paper handed out in
class), depicting the various activities that will be used to represent your cell’s
organelles.
2. A list detailing what organelle = what part of your analogy (Back of this
worksheet).
3. A description of how your analogy compares to the function of the specific
organelle in question.
4. Be Creative
Example – Basketball Court
Sidelines = Cell Wall
Controls if the ball is in
play (in or out of
bounds)
Center Court = Nucleus
Found in the center of the
court, controls the start of
the game.
