Working on identifying CJ scholarship winners. Received a $20,000 grant for a Cass County pre-trial program.

Personal cell phone policy being engaged by MnSCU. If employees use personal cell phones for MnSCU issues, there will be an encryption policy. Troy encourages you to read the policy that will be forthcoming.

There are some college bottom dollars remaining for any last minute needs.

Troy has contacted Winona regarding the Child Advocacy Studies Certificate.

Beth from CJ and Mary Fairbanks from Nursing are the faculty involved so far. Would like to include Social

Work, Psychology, and Community Health areas. Troy will contact the Nursing Department to see if someone wants to pick this up and get it going yet this spring.

Tenure and Promotion documents are due to the Dean January 31 (since that is Sunday, January 29 is the recommended date to turn them in).

PDP Progress Reports and documents are due to Dean:

March 4 for FT, and 2-5 th year probationary

April 15 for tenured faculty below full professor

April 22 for first year probationary, and full professors in their 2 nd or 4 th year of cycle

Major/Minor report handed out. Troy requested that you consider this in your own department discussions.

Discussion on advisory boards. If advisory boards are of value to your department, Troy suggested that you meet with them. The College of HSHE advisory board was started by Jim Barta in 2013, but has not met since then. List of members were handed out and Troy asked you to let him know if you have suggestions for new contacts.

Civility training was discussed. It was suggested that along with giving information on what civility is, that there be a discussion on what to do with this information (i.e., how and when to intervene, etc.) The faculty would like to see some consistency and follow through with these discussions. Courageous Conversations met twice and just dropped. Also, these trainings can affect people so there should be some advice to attendees if this happens to them.

Respectfully Submitted by:

Tammy Mayer
