organization is present, but ideas need to be more
clearly described. Ordinary vocabulary, some

clear paragraphs. Ideas are clear and easy to follow.
Supporting details are mostly well described.
Vocabulary includes some strong and vivid words.
The writer's voice is emerging. Few mistakes in

easy to follow. Supporting details are well described.
Strong vocabulary with vivid words. The writer's
voice is strong, thoughtful and easy to identify. Very
few mistakes in MUGS. This essay leaves the reader
with something to think about!
