Review of the R&D Start Program
I am writing to you in relation to assistance provided to your company, through the
Commonwealth Government’s R&D Start Program, to undertake a research and development
(R&D) project.
It is important for us to test, from time to time, whether the program is achieving its objectives of
improving the international competitiveness of Australian industry by encouraging greater levels
of research and development activities. To support the evaluation process, the Department of
Industry, Tourism and Resources is gathering data on outcomes of projects that have received
R&D Start funding.
Your cooperation is requested in responding to the attached survey form. This is the type of
request for information envisaged within the Operative Provisions of your agreement with
AusIndustry.
Your information will be treated as commercial-in-confidence and will be held on your project
file by AusIndustry.
By completing the survey and returning it to AusIndustry by close of business on
Tuesday, 27 May you will assist us in identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that the
R&D Start Program continues to encourage innovation in Australian companies.
