Course Objectives: Students will be able to summarize and recognize the main idea of a passage as well as locate specific facts. They will be able to infer the meaning of new vocabulary and implied information. They will also develop their vocabulary and word study skills. Absence and Tardy Policies: According to HCCS policy, the teacher may drop any student who has missed 12.5% (four days) of class. If you arrive more than five minutes late, you will be counted tardy. (3 tardies=1 absence) If you are more than fifteen minutes late, you will be counted absent. Make-up Policy: There will be no make-up tests except in extreme emergencies. You must call the officer or email me if you have an emergency. Scholastic Honesty: Do not copy the work of other students. If you need help with an assignment, ask me for assistance.
