PHYS 1402 SEMESTER PROJECT: Prof. Dr. E. D. Akpanumoh
Choose one of the following topics and write a “ Research Paper/Project” on. The paper
should be about 15- 20 pages long, type-written and double spaced. At least 15
works/references should be cited. Please do not plagiarize, If caught, there will be severe
penalty. Please avoid downloading from the web as this will be easily detected.
Good diagrams and appropriate illustrations should be included whenever and wherever
possible. In addition, each student should be prepared to give a 10-15 minutes oral
presentation on the stipulated date. The date will be very close to the end of the semester.
Each student should inform the professor of his/her chosen topic before starting the
project that way each student will do a separate project. Note the sooner you make your
favorite chosen topic known to the professor, the better your chance of doing your project
on that topic; otherwise another student may beat you to it.
Note that the Research Paper/Project is worth 10 % of your course grade if you
choose this option. On the other hand, you may choose to do a Design Project on some of
these topics, but not all. If you choose this option, then this must be accompanied by a
research paper describing your design. In this case, it will be worth 20% of your course
grade. Please see the Course Syllabus for complete information on these grading options.
