By using this account, the requestor and the Approving Officer agree to the following:
1. The design and contents of the site will be in compliance with all relevant UN requirements, including but not limited to, ST/AI/2001/5*, its associated
Technical Guidelines, and with requirements for access by the disabled, as set forth on the UN Web Accessibility Standards (available at
http://www.un.org/webaccessibility).
2. All content uploaded to the Production server will be approved by the Approving Officer or as designated alternate before being posted.
3. The Requesting Office will implement as soon as possible, any changes to their site that the UN Web Services Section/DPI and/or the Office of Information
and Communications Technology (OICT) may request, to bring the site into conformance with any existing or new requirements.
4. Should any file uploaded to the un.org website pose a security or technical risk to the web servers or the UN website, WSS and/or OICT reserve the right to
remove the file from the server which may render part of the Requesting Office's website inoperable. WSS and/or OICT will promptly inform the requesting
Office of such action.
5. The Requesting Office will maintain a current mirror of their site on the Production server, in their local drives.
When approved, the FTP UserID and password will be sent only to the Approving Officer in a secure, encrypted email.
Please note that the Requesting and Approving Officers are responsible for ensuring the security of the FTP access information. Neither OICT nor WSS store
passwords and as such will be unable to assist in the recovery of any lost passwords. If anyone gains access to the userID and password information, they will
be able to add, delete or in any way, change the contents of the site. If the Requesting Office believes that the password to their account has been
compromised, they will immediately inform WSS (Robert Neshovski, 3-3251) with as many details as possible and the account will be locked out. A request for
a password reset will have to be made which will require at least two working days from the time of receipt of written notification. If the Requesting Office
cannot provide the UserID for the account, a new account request will have to be made, which may require three to five business days to be activated. During
this time the Requesting Office will be unable to update their site.
