This call is open to LUISS students enrolled in the 2 nd year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics

and Business in the academic year 2015-16.

A. GENERAL RULES

LUISS has a structured partnership with Cass Business School - City University London in the field of Economics and Business at Bachelor level, hereinafter referred to as CASS SEM.

Participating students will have the possibility to attend courses and take exams at Cass Business

School that will be recognized on the LUISS study plan.

Selected students will spend abroad one semester of their 3 rd year Bachelor’s Degree in

Economics and Business, a. y. 2016-17.

Students selected for this program will be registered at LUISS during their stay at the partner university. Students will be required to pay additional tuition fees to Cass Business School - City

University London and they will continue paying tuition fees to LUISS.

Students attending the program are not allowed to request an official renounce of the registration in their LUISS career of converted grades of exams passed at the partner university during their mobility period.

B. COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMES

Eligible students are allowed to apply to the Call for applications for the CASS SEM and the

International Student Exchange program.

Students participating to both Calls who will be selected for one of the two programs, must confirm their participation to the chosen program within one working day after the publications of the International Student Exchange program selection results.

Students participating to both Calls, who will be in waiting list in the International Student

Exchange program, will have to choose either to be excluded from the International Student

Exchange selection (and therefore lose the possibility to be recalled from the waiting list) or to be excluded from the CASS SEM by April 7 th 2016 at 13.00 (TBC). In order to renounce, students must communicate their decision by sending a written notice to the International Development Office

(international@luiss.it) with copy to the Student Exchange Office (relint@luiss.it) within the established deadline.

Students who already participated in the International Student Exchange program or in the structured partnership with Utrecht in the a.y. 2014-15 are not eligible to this Call.

C. AVAILABLE SLOTS

The total number of available slots for the a.y. 2016-2017 is 5.

D. PRE-REQUIREMENTS

The CASS SEM is open to students enrolled in the 2 nd year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics

and Business in the a. y. 2015-16.

Eligible students can apply if, within the official extraordinary winter examination session a. y.

2015-16 (December 2015 - February 2016), they:

 have earned a minimum of 64 credits of their study plan by the end of the winter examination session of the a.y. 2015-2016.

 hold a weighted average grade equal to or above 26/30;

 hold an English language certificate such as: o International Certificates:

 TOEFL min. 95/120 IBT

 IELTS min. 6.5

The mentioned certificates should not be older than two years.

E. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The application deadline is February 15 th 2016 at 13.00.

In order to apply, students must complete the application form and upload the required attachments in the web self-service area of the LUISS website.

Students will be able to participate only if they are in regular time frame and have no pending administrative issues with LUISS.

Only applications accompanied by all documentation and received by the application deadline will be considered.

F. SELECTION

An Academic Commission nominated by the Dean of the Department of Economics and Business will select students on the basis of a non-disputable evaluation.

The eligible candidates will be ranked after their average grade. The academic performance will be calculated on the basis of the data available to the Student Office by the end of the winter examination session 2015-16. Candidates are responsible to check its accuracy in due time.

The selection will take into account all credits registered by the application deadline except those for Other Activities (including internships), identified by the code SJ1.

In case of ex-aequo, previous international mobility experiences, motivation letter and curriculum vitae will be considered.

G. PUBLICATION OF RESULTS

The selection results will be communicated by e-mail to the applicants by the end of March 2016

(TBC).

H. ACCEPTANCE

Selected students will be required to confirm their acceptance through written notification within

one working day from the publication of results.

In case of refusal or missing notification by the deadline, the following candidate in order of waiting list will be recalled. Recalled students will be required to confirm their participation by written notice within one working day.

Every refusal received after the established deadline will be transferred to the Vice Rector for

Teaching who will evaluate its motivations with the Dean of the Department and the Director of

Teaching and Research, and will inform the Graduation Commission of those refusals deemed not properly motivated.

I. ADDITIONAL POINTS

The participation in program will provide additional points to the Final Grade of the Bachelor’s

Degree, according to LUISS rules.

M. PRICE AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS

A.

Tuition

The Study Abroad tuition fee is £ £5,000 (Autumn) and £6,100 (Spring) for the academic year

2016-2017 and is revised annually.

B.

Payment schedule

City will furnish billing information as well as effective payment options to LUISS students. LUISS students shall pay their Study Abroad tuition fee directly to City.

C.

Study Abroad Program features

Costs include:

• Welcome and introduction session;

• Academic orientation and ongoing tutoring for many courses;

• Social and cultural activities;

• Courses for a maximum of 60 City credits.

Not included:

• Transport to or from ltaly or any other point of departure to or from City;

 Health Insurance;

 Text books and teaching materials;

 Housing and other living costs;

 Local transport.
