Committee Reports/Division Issues:
 Mike:
 Friday, December 17, 2010, campus police will be doing a Christmas party for the CDC
children with Santa and his sleigh at 10:00am. After this they will be doing a program for
150-200 young people through the CalWorks Office at the Activity Center.
 Working with Rocky and Lynn regarding sensitive HR issues.
 Babs:
 Working on the summer programs.
 Bob:
 Over the weekend there was leak in the chilled water for the cooling and heating systems.
Had to shut down everything on Monday and recharge it. Have located the problem with
the pipe in the crawl space under the Natural Science building.
 Janice:
 Accounting Tech for the financial Aid disbursement at Compton quit yesterday without
giving notice.
 Getting together all of the items the auditors needs.
 Last Friday some of the football players came wanting to get payment plan since it was the
drop day for non-payment.
 Andy:
 Busy with book buy, finals and preparation for winter session.
 Impacts of various external forces making a very opaque vision of books, but that picture
should clear by end of year.
 John:
 Seven hundred students have already used the Degree Audit program.
 Last Friday met with the counselors and the Title V coordinator Al Solano:
 Agreement reached that SSTARS will not be deployed.
 Will use the Datatel Early Alert.
 Group also agreed to use Degree Audit and Advisor Ed Plan.
 Planning will begin early part of January.
 CNET network has sent letter for ECC to stop downloading illegal copy of Columbia
Pictures movie “Grown Ups”. Further research indicates that it is not the students but staff.
 Regarding open lab in the library and when it will be up and running – Buyer in purchasing
is holding up the process.
 Julie:
 Book buy back at Compton is down.
 Last semester was 7000 and now it is 1700.
 EOP&S department is telling students if they have not passed their class and bought
books through EOP&S voucher that they cannot sell the textbooks but to return it to
EOP&S office.
 Lock installed works when you lock it. But the lockers that are not used does not close
their doors (it does not latch on even if you close it, it swings back open). Bruce it looking
into the matter.
 Tom C:
 Thanked Jo Ann for the two accounting positions that were opened.
 Working with Danny Villanueva, new CBO at Compton.
