NOTES
Re-Design
 Home page and Individual dept pages are built
 New web server is in place, along with the testing area for the new web site. I am in the process of
working on the site architecture for the new site based on the site outline
 Admissions Department web pages are currently being built
 The next section on the project timeline is the Student Services area: it includes areas like Financial
Aid, Counseling, ASO, ASB, Bookstore, and everything that falls under the vp of student and
community advancement area
 Then the next sections are About ECC, Administration, Academics (does not include departments)
but does include Distance Education, Honors Transfer Program, and Study Abroad, Future Students,
Current Students, Parents, Foundation, Faculty & Staff, Library, & Athletics
Important: It is very crucial in this process that these areas continue to update their web pages via the
omni-update system. We want to stress that if your areas do not have the right information on the pages
we will not be working on your section until it gets updated and this will hold up the process so we need
every department working together to get their web pages up to date.


Ongoing Omni Training
Contact Staff Development if someone in your department hasn’t gone through training they will
have the schedule of the next training.
Limit 1 person per dept. because of limited licenses.
Omni training will continue to be offered to get more and more users trained so they can get their web
pages current. If someone in your department hasn’t gone through training please contact staff development
to find out the dates of the next training. We are stressing that only 1 person in each department be trained
because we have a limited number of licenses for this software.

Timeline has been identified; first will be Admissions and second Student Services areas etc.
The second phase will be those areas that pertain to faculty, staff, other services etc.
Launch date is January
Melanie will send e-mail, if needed, to those departments that may be lagging behind reminding
them they are holding up the process.
Accessibility standards will need to be worked out with Omni who may need to tag areas.
ID tags come from Chancellor’s Office
Melanie will work with Info Systems to resolve accessibility issues
Web guidelines will be developed along with the review process
Omni training will continue in August and October, each department will need to identify an
individual to attend the training
My ECC was approved by the VPs and Satish and John Wagstaff will aid in making the switch
effortless
Internal and external awareness is a concern to the VPs who want an assurance this will be
accomplished correctly.
Groups will be addressed regarding this issue on September 29 when a decision will be reached on
how to accomplish awareness.
A Community and focus groups survey will be drafted next week.
Questions regarding classes etc, campus image, preference of phone, online, or in person
registration.
