Phineas Gage Word Study
Choose one word from your vocabulary list. Then, complete the
Fakebook assignment for your word.
1. Look in the index of Phineas Gage to find your word. Then,
write a sentence from the book that contains your word. Be
sure to cite your source!
2. Look up the dictionary definition of your word. You may use
the dictionary or Phineas Gage. Be sure to include the part of
speech for your word.
3. Create your own sentence using your word. Make sure you
use your word correctly!
4. Draw a picture that represents your word. This should be
colorful.
5. In the “Friends/Synonyms” section, write a list of at least 5
synonyms for your word. You may use a thesaurus to help,
but all words are not included in the thesaurus.
6. In the “Hobbies” section, write a list of at least 3 things your
word would like to do if it were a person.
7. In the “Liked Pages” section, write a list of at least 3
celebrities, movies, books, or TV shows your word might be
interested in if it were a person.
