often a character who is sightless is the one who sees things
most clearly. When Piggy’s specs are broken and he loses one
of the lenses, his already poor eyesight is made worse. Think
of what you know about Piggy already. How are his glasses
used as a symbol in this chapter?
2. Jack paints his face when hunting the pig. Think about masks.
