IT IS HEREBY PROPOSED THAT THE FOLLOWING BE ADOPTED:
1. That the University Senate approves the attached proposal as approved by the
Undergraduate Academic Council.
2. That this takes effect for the fall 2011 semester.
3. That this proposal be forwarded to President George M. Philip for approval.

Students will actively participate in the political process through working in a staff position at a
recognized political agency, organization or institution to test – in a nonacademic setting – the
concepts and theories examined in the classroom. Internships are open only to qualified juniors
and seniors who have an overall grade point average of 2.50 or higher. May be taken only once
for credit. Permission of instructor required. S/U graded.
