Tampa 6 Vocabulary
1. bud: an undeveloped or rudimentary stem or branch of a plant.
2. struck: to deal a blow or stroke to (a person or thing), with a fist or
weapon of some type.
3. tunnel: a passageway, as for trains or automobiles, through or under
an obstruction, as a city, mountain, river, harbor, or the like.
4. dust: earth or other matter in fine, dry particles.
5. crust: the brown, hard outer portion or surface of a loaf or slice of
bread.
6. sudden: happening, coming, made, or done quickly, without warning, or
unexpectedly.
7. fire: a state, process, or instance of combustion in which fuel or other
material is ignited and combined with oxygen, giving off light, heat,
and flame.
8. prize: a reward for victory or superiority, as in a contest or
competition.
9. cute: attractive, esp. in a dainty way; pleasingly pretty.
10. wise: having the power of discerning and judging properly as to what is
true or right.
11. space: the portion or extent of this in a given instance; extent or
room in three dimensions.
12. include: to contain, as a whole does parts or any part or element.
13. scale: any thin, plate like piece or flake that peels off from a surface,
as from the skin.
14. airplane: aircraft kept aloft by the upward thrust exerted by the
passing air on its fixed wings and driven by propellers, jet propulsion.
15. froze: to become hardened into ice or into a solid body; change from
the liquid to the solid state by loss of heat.
16. hole: a hollow place in a solid body or mass.
