Westmoore JH Volleyball 2016
Welcome to the Westmoore volleyball family. We are glad you have decided to return or maybe check out the team for the first time. This year we will focus on the theme of “Team.” The team will become one of your many resources and support organizations while you are in junior high. Emphasis for practices, games, travel, and lessons will focus on building the team as a whole. Every individual will positively contribute to the team through their attitudes and actions.
There will be a parent/player meeting May 16 at the Moore West JH gym at 7:00pm. Team expectations and procedures will be discussed and an opportunity will be made available for questions, comments, or suggestions.

May 1 st ) must be completed before participation in practices.
Team Rules:
1.
Attendance at every practice is essential. Practices are intended to improve the team by raising individual skills and teamwork. Missing a practice will require ten laps running, whether excused or not. Two unexcused absences (for reason other than those necessary) will result in additional consequences such as loss of playing time or additional running.

Attitude and Effort are keys to successful growth as a player. Students are expected to express a positive and productive attitude with all participation while representing Westmoore JH.

Challenges will arise. Whether with another student, a team rule, a coach or official, or intra-personal, challenges will confront all students. How you react and respond will determine if that challenge grows into a problem. Remaining positive and constructively working towards a solution will reward you with a learning experience. Avoid negativity, especially on social media. Insults or attacks against your teammates, coaches, teachers, or administrators cause damage to the team and will not be tolerated.
4.
Transportation. Students must ride the school provided bus to away games and tournaments. Parents or guardians may check students out from away games through the coach or sponsor at the event.
School volleyball follows many sets of standards and rules: OSSAA, NFHS, Moore District Policy, and Brink and Moore
West rules. This is not a “club” team. Your role and participation on the team may differ from that on your club team.
This is a competitive sport. We will compete to win as a team. When the team wins we will celebrate as a team. When the team loses we will learn from our mistakes and use it as an opportunity for growth. We will learn from the spirit of fair play and competition that giving our best effort, regardless of the final score, while demonstrating character and leadership will be the mark of our success.
