Why is respiration important? Is it vital for life? Why?
Answer:
Respiration is the way that living things use food energy to provide
cells with the necessary power which allows them to function. Therefore, no life would exist
without it.
3. Question: How many hours during the day do plants respire. How is this different from
the amount of time that plants photosynthesize?
Answer:
Plants respire all day long (24 hours). Photosynthesis only occurs when high
quality light is shining on the leaves.
