are described in accordance with company requirements.

Methods of tying up the codend and tying on the beckets are described in
accordance with company requirements.

The distinguishing features of bottom and mid-water trawl nets are described.
Element 2
Repair trawl net under supervision.
Performance criteria
2.1
The twine size is selected appropriate to section of net to be repaired.
2.2
The needle is loaded according to the supervisor’s instructions.
2.3
The repair is carried out within the timeframe set by the supervisor.
2.4
The repair is carried out according to the supervisor’s instructions and company
requirements.

Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
