Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Demonstrate knowledge of industrial offshore surveys. Performance criteria 1.1 Techniques and equipment for geophysical surveys are explained in accordance with job specifications, HYSPEC, and UKOAA guidelines. Range 1.2 Techniques and equipment for offshore positioning surveys are explained in accordance with job specifications. Range 1.3 surveys include but are not limited to positioning of – semisubmersible rig, jack up rig, production platform, sub-sea template; evidence is required of any two positioning surveys – at least one surface and one subsurface. Techniques and equipment for pipeline installation surveys are identified and described in accordance with job specifications. Range 1.4 surveys – seismic (2D, 3D, 4D), site (for rig or platform positioning), gravity, magnetic. pipeline surveys include but are not limited to – route selection, lay barge positioning, pipe lay down positioning, lay back calculations, trenching machine positioning, ploughing equipment positioning; evidence is required of at least three surveys. Techniques and equipment for pipeline inspection surveys are identified in accordance with job specifications Range inspection surveys include but are not limited to – remotely operated vehicle, sonar, leak detection, pigging. New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2016 23868 version 1 Page 3 of 3 Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP).
