Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to determine
the financial resource requirements for a forestry business, and
identify and assess sources of finance and financial advice to
meet the forestry business’s requirements.

Explanatory notes
1
All explanations, descriptions, and plans must meet the documentation requirements
established by the assessing body, and comply with relevant legislative and
regulatory requirements including Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, and
the Resource Management Act 1991, and their subsequent amendments.

Purpose and objectives developed for the business define the scope of the work
to be undertaken.

Costs of resources needed to meet the establishment requirements of the
business are identified through consultation with resource providers.

Evidence requirements
2.1
Identification of common sources of finance and financial advice available to
forestry businesses includes determination of conditions applying to finance or
advice obtained for each source identified.

Available finance source options are assessed against forestry business.

amount available, interest rates, repayment requirements,
insurance requirements, non-payment implications.
2.3
Investigation of selected finance and financial advice option ensures all
conditions are evaluated, and the ability of the business to service them is
confirmed before commitment to the option is made.

Agreement established for provision of finance meets the requirements of the
business's legal representative.
