My area of research is Accounting Information Systems. This is because of
my focus in my PhD. I was looking at the enterprise research planning system as part
of the accounting information systems and I focus on the human-centred analysis of
the enterprise resource planning system design.
I was born in Indonesia and I live in Indonesia for 32 years and I also work there in
Indonesia for 10 years in a different industry so I believe I have previous strong link
with Indonesian ideology, Indonesian social culture, economics and Indonesian
politics.
We understand that Indonesia is one of the potential area as well as market for La
Trobe and we are thinking of starting a study tour to Indonesia because the three of
us, we really know Indonesia quite well and we really do have link with Indonesian
universities as well as government, indigenous and private sectors in Indonesia.
So we started from that and then we agreed to start the first step by going to Indonesia
to one university in Sumatra, namely Universitas Bengkulu in South Sumatra and then
... well we understand that our counterpart in Universitas Bengkulu also more than
ready to accept La Trobe students to do study through there. And so starting from that
we do the preparation and now we’re having a number of students ready to undertake
the program to Universitas Bengkulu.
And not only that, the students who are joining this Indonesian business study tour,
they’ll also get exposure of Indonesian culture not only from Sumatra but also from
Java, especially the capital city of Jakarta and then Yogyakarta in central Java as well
as Bali in Denpasar so students will explore Indonesian culture, Indonesian business,
also a bit of politics and then they will visit a number of business enterprises in
different areas in Indonesia especially in Sumatra, Java and Bali and then they will
learn the differences and hopefully they can come up with something positive can
bring back to Australia.
