in Summer 2016?
Apply to the Provost’s 6th Annual
Student-Faculty Undergraduate Research Summer Program!
Concept
Faculty and students will work together on a research project over the course of the
summer. Faculty and students need to apply as a pair. A small stipend will be offered to
each faculty member and student participant ($750 for the faculty and $500 for the
student). The research pairs determine the hours they will work over the course of the
summer, as long as it ends by late August.
Expectations
Faculty and students are expected to submit their findings for possible publication, in
addition to completing and posting two blogs online as well as a final summary of their
research findings.

Q: Who is eligible for the program?
A: Faculty (both adjunct and full time) and students from any discipline are eligible for the program.
Q: What are the program requirements, if selected?
A: The program requirements for are as follows:

Faculty and students need to commit to 8-10 weeks of working together on the research

Students will write 2 blogs during the summer

Students will prepare an end-of-summer report

Faculty will prepare end-of-summer research summary and student assessment

Faculty and student pairs will submit their findings to Pace’s Digital Commons (or other
publication) or present at a relevant conference
Q: Do faculty and students have to apply together?
A: Yes, faculty and students need to apply together.
Q: Is there a stipend?
A: Yes, there is a $750 stipend for the faculty mentor and there is a stipend of $500 for student which
can be used for supplies or other related research expenses. The stipend is paid in one installment in
June.
