Report from
Strategy Forum
Preliminary development of two new Action Projects were started – Strategic
Professional Development (Leaders of MAC, Faculty Caucus and Staff Caucus
were asked by President Plotts to lead project) and Updating the Systems
Portfolio (Plotts leading discussion regarding integrating AQIP processes with
other College processes, including but not limited to strategic planning/PAC).
Meeting attendees reviewed the work done by the Team on the professional
development project.

Homework/research to prepare for Forum identified that the jargon associated
with AQIP at the College is a problem. Meeting attendees discussed alternate
terms – NCState Portfolio, Improvement Projects.
Other Action
Projects
AQIP announced that the organization would be accepting Action Projects for
posting that would not be required to be reviewed by an AQIP reviewer. The
purpose is to promote sharing information among AQIP colleges.
Another new project will be implementing the new AA/AS degrees – a degree
from HLC.

o Primarily for managing Action Projects that are not “strategic.”
(“Strategic” Action Projects might come under PAC.)
o Function as a sub-committee of ??
o Recruit new members from various stakeholder groups and/or
contact supervisors for members, 2 year appointment
 AQIP Steering Committee meets biannually, then to oversee AQIP
processes.
