PARTNERS FOR CHANGE
Project Proposal (2013-14)
Overview
This form is for FLAs in Scotland. British Council Scotland and SCILT work in partnership to
support FLAs in Scotland to undertake a project in schools. FLAs in the rest of the UK can use this
template to help plan their projects but do not need to submit it to the British Council.
Before starting the planning of your project have a look at the sample project templates on the
British Council website, and discuss your project idea with a teacher at one of your allocated
schools.
To ensure you can measure progress in your pupils a project should involve pupils over a
minimum period of four weeks. You can start and finish your project at times most suited to your
objectives although we envisage that most projects will be finished before the start of the Easter
holidays.

You should also familiarise yourself with the Curriculum for Excellence documents related to
Modern Languages: ML Principles and Practice, ML Experiences and Outcomes).
If your project is starting at some point after the Christmas break, the deadline for submitting the
first draft of your project proposal is November 15. After you have received feedback from us you
can make any revisions and also complete your intended weekly plan of project activities. Final
submission date for the proposal and plan will be 7 December 2013.
If your project needs to start before the Christmas break, please contact us and complete
the documents as soon as possible.
British Council Scotland and SCILT intend to showcase all successfully completed projects at a
special national event at the end of April (further details to follow later).
Once you have completed the proposal and have agreed the project with your school please
