The Principal’s Corner
It’s hard to believe that our parent conferences are
just around the corner! We are striving to meet
with every parent and have 100% participation.
Parents, if you have not yet planned a meeting time
with your child’s teacher, please make sure you do
so soon. This is a valuable time in which you will
have the opportunity to share information about
your child and hear how he or she is doing at
school. Please make time in your schedule for this
important conference time.
We had a wonderful turnout for our first parent
instructional tour and open house on October 12,
2015. Parents were able to see math instruction in
various grade levels and how students are solving
math problems. We hope that your will come to
visit when we host our second parent instructional
tour on December 2, 2015.
It has been brought to my attention that there is a
great safety concern as students walk home from
school. Students are cutting across the street
where there is no crossing guard, causing a
dangerous situation in which students could be hit
by cars. I ask that parents join me to help keep
children safe by making sure they cross the street
only where the crossing guard is located. Please
talk with your child about this and help supervise
their walk home.
As the weather starts to turn colder, please be sure
to dress your child appropriately. Information on
receiving emergency weather and school closings
or delays are on the attached portion of this
newsletter.

PTA News:
Hello Daly Families,
The PTA would like to thank everyone for their support for the Claire’s fundraiser. This year’s efforts
were a huge success so once again we would like to thank everyone for their support. We would
also like to thank our Daly families who came out to McDonalds for our sprit night on October 22 nd
and a huge thanks to all the teachers and staff who participated to make it a big success.
Our next event is the Scholastic Book Fair starting Monday, November 9th through Friday, November
13th from 9:00 am. – 7: 00 p.m. in the library. There will be lots of fun educational books and school
supplies for children grades PK – 5th grade, so stop by with your children and take a look at the books
that are on display.
As always the PTA is looking for people who are willing to be coordinators and volunteers for our
upcoming events. We are also welcoming anyone who will like to become members of the PTA.
Sincerely,
Denise Franklin
PTA President
For Your Child’s Safety
Parents, if your child is a car rider, please pick him or her up in the car rider circle. Please do
not park and leave your car in the car rider circle. You will need a new car rider number
to do this, as the numbers from last year are no longer valid. As you pick up your child in the
circle, please pull up as far as possible so that the car line does not back up. Please do not
park on the street and ask children to cross the bus lane to meet you on the hill or near
the street. Some of our children have crossed in areas without a crossing guard or in front of
buses, and this has been very unsafe.
If you do not wish to wait in the car pick-up area, please walk to the main entrance to meet
your child. If you meet your child at the main entrance, your child is considered a walker.
Please be sure to let your child’s teacher or the school office know if there are any changes
with how your child is to leave school. We will not accept a child’s verbal notification of any
change.
