Introductions of Network Members, Welcome New Members, Network Mission

Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin hosted the 25th Annual Together For Children
Conference in Lake Geneva on April 23rd, 24th and 25th. For information regarding
Trauma Informed Care, contact Elizabeth Hudson, Consultant to WI Dept. of Health

and educational materials.

The Racine Fatherhood Coalition has recently formed to promote and assist in
coordination of programs and services for father, to reduce fatherless homes and to
have a healthy impact on the Racine community. Anyone interested in membership
and participation with the coalition, contact Zakee Darr, Community Development

Reminder: Healthcare Professional Opportunity Program, (HPOPS) offered through
Gateway Technical College in Racine Kenosha and Walworth Counties- participants
must for TANF recipients or other eligible low income, new student, spoke with Lisa
Roberts, Case Manager for HPOPS in Racine, will begin open enrollment for Fall
Semester on May 30th, Gateway Racine Campus Contact #619-6442.

Legal Action of WI requests that referrals be made by providers on behalf of families
due to high volume of calls and limited staff. #262-635-8836

Correction update: Care Net Resource Center serves prenatal up to children age 2,
not 2+.


Coalitions-Homeless Assistance Coalition will host a panel discussion on
resources for low income children on Friday, May 18th from 9:00-10:30 am at Mount
Pleasant Village Campus Building-Community Room 1. Presenters/panelists will
speak for one hour followed by 30 minutes of discussion.
The session will begin with an overview of the scope of the problem in Racine County
presented by Bev Baker, Family Living Educator/Dept Head for Racine County UWExtension. Next, each panel member will give a brief overview regarding the role of
their agency/program in providing services to children. The panel members include:

Services Dept., Alyson Eisch, Supervisor of Instruction and Support Racine Unified,
Cheryl Mazmanian, Director and Health Officer, Western Racine County Health Dept.

Family Service of Racine is offering free Anger Management classes, for both adults
and youth, held on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00 pm. Family Service is also offering a
Ways to Work Program and a Veterans Art Therapy Program.

Sheryl.hamilton@rcoc.net , To make a referral to Birth to Three Program, call #262638-7720. Referrals are made if there is a suspected cognitive or developmental
delay, 25% or more in one or more developmental areas. Anyone can make a referral
on behalf of a child.

Energy Services Inc. of Racine- new to location, 1654 Washington Ave., Currently
taking walk-ins and appointments, to schedule contact #262-633-6000. Clients will
need to show three months prior income, based on income eligibility and family size.
